Tender announcement for the privatization of Taşucu Port and its backfield, located in Mersin, Turkey, has been published in the Official Gazette on 27 April 2017.
According to the initial tender announcement, which was published on 7 April 2017, the method of privatization was the transfer of operational rights for 36 years for both the port and its backfield. However, according to the revised announcement published on 27 April 2017, the privatization method has changed as (i) transfer of operational rights for 36 years for the Taşucu Port, and (ii) sale of the backfield of the port.
Individuals, legal entities and consortiums can participate in the tender. Investment companies can also participate provided that they are a member of a consortium. The tender method will be negotiated tender procedure by conducting tender negotiations and collecting the bids in sealed envelopes. Participants will be required to purchase tender documentation and submit a bid bond of TRY 15 million.
